Consolidating Five Countries of Financial Data Into One Trusted Picture
As Head of Finance at Craydel, I was responsible for turning financial activity across the USA, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Zimbabwe into a single, accurate picture leadership could act on. I managed multi-currency transactions and cash flow across every market, while designing and implementing tax optimisation strategies that reduced liabilities across jurisdictions. Internal controls and reporting processes were strengthened alongside consolidation, so the numbers leadership saw were both unified and audit-ready. The result was a finance function that gave leadership one clear position instead of five fragmented ones.
Craydel operated across five countries with different currencies, tax regimes and reporting requirements. Leadership needed one consolidated view to make group-level decisions with confidence.
Multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction operations create real risk of inconsistent reporting and unnecessary tax exposure if consolidation and tax strategy are not handled deliberately. Without a single point of ownership, group-level decisions risk being made on incomplete or conflicting country-level numbers.
How the Work Got Done
Structure
I directed financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting processes across all five countries of operation, standardising how each market reported into the group.
Optimisation
I designed and implemented tax optimisation strategies across the relevant jurisdictions, directly reducing group liabilities.
Governance
I strengthened internal controls, financial governance and reporting processes to keep the consolidated view both accurate and audit-ready.
The Numbers Behind the Work
Consolidated financial reporting across 5 countries into a single group view for leadership.
Beyond the Numbers
“Consolidation is only valuable if the underlying controls and tax strategy behind it are sound, otherwise it is just five sets of errors combined into one.”
This work became the financial backbone that later supported Craydel's investment due diligence process. It reflects the same consolidation discipline I now bring to every multi-entity client.
